We are currently accepting applications for all full-time, part time, and seasonal positions for the 2023 season!

Powder Horn Family Camping Resort has varied opportunities across all lines of our operation to ensure a great camping experience for all our guests. From working outside with our Facilities Team and on our pool decks, providing fun and entertainment with the Activities and Game Window Teams, to working inside with the Front Office and Camp Store and Cafe. There are many different roles that make Powder Horn run! 

This general application will be reviewed and you will be reached out to to discuss the different positions and what might be the best fit for you. Many of our roles include working both inside and outside in all types of weather; walking, standing, kneeling, bending and lifting will be required with all roles. 

Our season begins in May and runs through Columbus Day; start dates vary depending on position.

 

Front Office Reservationist Team

The Front Office team is at the heart and center of Powder Horn Family Camping Resort. With heavy guest interaction and technology usage, you’ll be working with all guests and enforcing campground policies. Knowledge of the surrounding area is a bonus. Strong communication skills, organizational and ability to work in an often fast-paced office environment. We have a dedicated French-Speaking clientele, Spoken or written French is preferred. We do have opportunities for more responsibility in the Front Office as a Reservationist Lead. The Front Office Reservationist Lead is responsible for overseeing the Front Office Team and working with management to ensure a smooth operation. In addition to all tasks presented for the Front Office Reservationist, the Front Office Reservationist Lead may be required to cover Manager-on-Duty shifts throughout the season, and will be held responsible for opening and closing checklists in the office. 

Some job duties include: 

  • Providing information to guests
  • Office and clerical work
  • Cash handling
  • Working with our reservation software
  • Working directly with guests
  • Working closely with the Management Team

This is a seasonal position from May until October. Nights and weekends required during peak season. Hours vary based on time of season.

Front Office Reservationist Salary: $15.25 – $18.25 per hour DOE & French Fluency

Front Office Reservationist Lead Salary: $16.25 – $19.25 per hour DOE & French Fluency

Park Safety / Security Team

During our season we have 24/7 security to ensure the safety of our guests and our employees. As a part of the Security Team you are responsible for de-escalating situations, providing communication and ensuring a safe environment for everyone on Powder Horn property. Working closely with the Front Office, the Security Team is the eyes and ears in the park. Valid driver’s license required. There are multiple shifts for our park safety/security team, day shifts and overnight shifts. Our night security team is responsible for the Security Gate overnight and safety throughout the park as this position is when all other departments are closed. There are also opportunities available for lead positions within this team where you would be responsible for overseeing the Security Team members throughout the shifts, and delegating tasks to the team while working closer with Management. 

Some job duties include:

  • Patrolling Powder Horn Grounds
  • Updating hourly security logs
  • Assisting other lines of the operation

This is a full-time, seasonal position. Scheduling flexibility is required. Shifts occur during the day, and hours may vary. Shifts may start as early as 7:00am and end as late as 11:00pm for Day Security. Shifts may start as early as 7:00pm and end as late as 7:00am for Night Security.

Day & Night Park Safety/ Security Team Member Salary $15.25 – $17.25 per hour DOE

Day & Night Park Safety/ Security Team Lead Salary $16.25 – $18.25 per hour DOE

Gate Team

Game Window Team

Powder Horn Family Camping Resort offers many amenities and recreations for our guests to enjoy, including horseshoes, volleyball, shuffleboard, an 18-hole mini golf course and much more! As a Game Window Team Member you’ll be in charge of lending out and ensuring the return of game equipment to guests and keeping a neat, organized, and clean space. 

Some job duties include: 

  • Lending out game equipment
  • Organizing and keeping inventory of items
  • Assisting Office Team Members with small clerical duties

This is a great position for a first-time job! The Powder Horn Management team works hard to train and help grow our team members into the best versions of their working selves.

This is a seasonal position with hours in the morning and evening, with weekends required. Shifts are short and fun!

Salary: $14.25 – $15.25 per hour DOE

Activities Team

Facilities Team

Our Facilities/Maintenance Team ensures that Powder Horn grounds and facilities run smoothly! From groundskeeping to ensure a clean and neat outside environment across the campground to keeping the restrooms clean for all of our guests, the Facilities Team always works hard to make sure that Powder Horn continues to be the cleanest campground in the area! This role includes working both inside and outside in all types of weather, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, lifting, and working with cleaning supplies. We have several opportunities with our facilities team for different areas of focus, such as groundskeeping and working in our restrooms and other buildings. There is also availability for a supervisory position within the department as a Facilities Team Lead.  As a Facilities Team Lead you will work closely with the Facilities Management Team and help delegating tasks and overseeing the Facilities Team Members. A valid driver’s license is required. 

Some job duties include:

  • Picking up litter across the campground
  • Cleaning showers/bathrooms
  • Working on small maintenance upkeep tasks
  • Working closely with the Management Team

This is a full or part-time, seasonal position. Scheduling flexibility is required, weekend and PM hours may be included.

Facilitites Team Member Salary: $14.25 – $16.25 per hour DOE

Facilitites Team Lead Salary: $17.25 – $18.25 per hour DOE

Landscaper

The Landscaper is responsible for upkeep of all manicured flower beds and other floral attributes across Powder Horn property. This will include planting, watering, and maintaining plants all around the campground; flowers, trees, shrubs, bushes, and other floral items. This role will be predominantly outside and require, bending, kneeling, walking and standing for long periods of time. Knowledge of different native flowers to Southern Maine and creativity is preferred. Any certification for use of equipment is a bonus. 

Some job duties include:

  • Creating and maintaining flower beds/boxes
  • Pruning and weeding
  • Completing or delegating watering and other duties

This is a full-time, seasonal position from May until October.

Salary: $16.25 – $19.25 per hour DOE

Pool Team

THIS IS NOT A LIFEGUARDING POSITION. The Pool Team Members are responsible for ensuring all pool complex rules are being followed by Powder Horn guests. This role requires standing, walking, bending over, and sitting throughout the shift and working outside. AED/CPR/First Aid training is a bonus but not required.

Some job duties include:

  • Maintaining safety policies on pool deck 
  • Organizing pool deck for safety and neatness
  • Communicating with management and security for guest issues
  • Helping open and close the pool deck depending on the shift which will include cleaning, scrubbing, vaccuming, and general maintaining of the pool complex.

This is a seasonal position, with full-time and part-time opportunities available. Scheduling flexibility is required, weekend hours are included.

Salary: $15.25 – $17.25 per hour DOE

Camp Store & Cafe Team

As a part of the team for the Camp Store and Cafe you’ll be working in a dual retail/food and beverage environment. The camp store sells multiple things for camping needs and our cafe makes breakfast sandwiches, baked goods, and pizza. This role will include cash handling, food and beverage preparation, as well as stocking and inventory of items within the store. Standing, walking, bending, lifting, and kneeling are required with this position. 

For applicants 21+, we are also looking for a Camp Store and Cafe Team Lead! As the Store and Cafe Team Lead, you will be responsible for cash drops and working with the Camp Store Manager to help oversee the Store and Cafe Team Members. Due to alcohol being sold on the premises, this position is required to be 21 years or older. 

Some job duties include: 

  • Food and beverage preparing
  • Inventory and stocking
  • Cash handling

This is a full-time, seasonal position from May until Mid-September. Schedule needs to be flexible as hours vary depending on time of season. Mornings, nights, and weekends required.

Camp Store and Cafe Team Member Salary: $15.25 – $17.25 per hour DOE

Camp Store and Cafe Team Lead (21+) Salary: $16.25 – $18.25 per hour DOE
