“My first time camping at the Powder Horn was in July of 1987 -I was just 3 months old. My parents, older brother, older sister, and I camped there every year after that! The summer of 2014 I brought my now husband to the Powder Horn camping. In a tent!! I had to show him what all the fuss was about, and I wasn’t about to go anywhere else! Back in the 90s my parents started camping at Powder Horn with me and my older brother in tow. We then became seasonal for about ten years. We celebrated many birthdays and family events at Powder Horn, I eventually started working there when I was 14. In our time as seasonal campers in the “Wrinkle Village” section we made many friends that we still talk to today. After selling our seasonal we as a family stepped away from camping. 18 years later (2021) my wife and I bought our first camper, and I knew the 1st place I wanted to spend time at was Powder Horn. We packed our camper up and headed to the campground with our 2-year-old daughter for the weekend. While at the playground, Ryan was walking by and after a quick hello he remembered exactly who I was and all the members of my family even after 18 years, that is what Powder Horn is all about… family. My wife, daughter and I are going back again this coming season, and we know we will once again be treated like family, we love Powder Horn.” – Jeffrey D.

“Powder Horn Family Camping Resort has been a part of our family’s traditions for over four generations! Every summer we continue to gather for a long weekend with as many as 6 sites full of cousins, siblings, children, nieces, nephews, grandkids, and friends. Over the years we have watched our kids learning to ride their bikes back in the Pine Grove section before the expansion, watched them dress into their costumes for Halloween contest and parade around, watched them laugh together while playing mini golf in a pack or jumping into the pools, watched them huddling together in the kids hot tub, watched them set up tents, help level off our campers and motor homes, watched them reconnect on summer vacations from high school or college breaks, and now watching some bring their babies and young ones as another generation starts to hopefully love camping.” – Carmen G.
